Branchriver Siberians is a registered Cattery with TICA (The International Cat Association)
Siberians are a beautiful medium to long hair, large cat breed imported from Russia. They have a three layer coat that helped them get through the long Russian winters - a downy inner coat, a soft middle layer, and long guard hairs on the outside which repel water. Siberians only shed twice a year, unlike other cats that seem to be constantly shedding. They are Forest cats, along with Norwegians and Maine Coons. Siberians are known for being hypoallergenic. While this has not been scientifically proven, many, many people across the country who have never been able to have cats find they can tolerate Siberians so well, they'll buy 2 or more (it’s hard to stop with one!) and have no problems.
We became interested in the breed because my mother wanted a cat a few years ago, but wouldn't buy one since she and others in our family have cat allergies. A little research found the “hypoallergenic Siberian” and a breeder nearby. Mom bought her kitten and we all fell in love. At that point I knew I wanted to breed these marvelous cats. Mom has no allergy problems (and a second Siberian!). I'll admit that I have mild reactions, easily controlled with a little medication.
Below are recent photos of our queens - Ariana, Petra, Nina, Sasha and Zahra, followed by our Kings, Simon and Herkules!

Mary loves cats, big cats, little cats, under my chair cats! Climbing up the back of my chair, racing around the house cats. Sheldon tolerates cats, likes horses, has no horses, has a house full of cats... and Sheldon is in the dog house now! HA
All Stupid sayings, poor grammar and spelling errors are the work of Sheldon.
