One Day A Barbet came to Milton
His Name is Pepin
Barbets are medium sized French water dogs. Who are reported to be the ancestor of the Poodle and other non-shedding dogs. Hypo-allergenic is another antidotal statement about this breed. These are "hair" dogs rather than fur, which shed little if at all. In my experience they are a gentle and fun loving breed, who is an ideal family pet. Easy to train, quick to learn and gets along with all other pets, including a house full of cats. Neither timid nor bold they fall right in the middle, easy to meet people and travel easily. Pepin does bark but rarely, dances nicely and loves to stay near his people.
I will say these statements are my observations of only one dog, raised with a full house and family size love, with the normal amount of teenage noise & people coming and going.
