Branch River Farm, Milton NH

Who we are:

We are the Holmes family: Sheldon & Mary Holmes, and our three sons, Samuel, Jacob & Daniel.

Where we are:

We live on an old, 50 acre dairy farm, which the Branch River cuts in half.  The above photo was taken of our house "The First day of Spring 1936".  We are attempting to care for and nurture the old farm.  Milton is a small town on the Maine & New Hampshire border with around 4000 people.  It is not in the Seacoast, the Lakes regions or the White Mountains, but all are close by.  We are 45 minutes from Portland, Maine and under two hours north of Boston, Massachusetts.

Why we are:

We are here because God wants us here!  We were brought here by God to help grow and encourage a small local church.  We have been experimenting for the last six years to find a "farm business" that we can run and generate enough income to pay our property taxes and have FUN!  Aquaculture has been tried and Red Deer farming was considered, but resources and time limited these activities.

So come on in and see what is happening at Branch River Farm.
